Samisti extended financial support to 15 students from Baba Gurudev College, Sattenapalli, AP. These students are from financially distressed families. Samisti assisted them with tuition fee for 2023-2024 school year. Recently one of our core team members: Nagesh Pulipati visited the college and met with the students and staff. Here’s what Nagesh said in his own words after his visit in Jan’24: First of all I wish Samisti team Happy Pongal. Subbu scheduled our meeting at 10am on Jan 11th. I started from Amaravathi at 8:30 am reached the school at 9:30am, came to know that the school had a holiday. The english teacher(Sylvia) reached school around 10:15 am and Principal arrived around 10:30am, and all students and their parents arrived around 10:45 am (pretty normal IST ... lol). One student (Nazma) came to meet us when I was in Principal's room and she was bold enough to ask me to help her sister, she talked to me in English whole time. I was impressed by her boldness. We all gathered in one of the class rooms. I was accompanied by my friends: Veera Raju and Mallik, both helped Samisti in screening the students. Initially we asked all the students to introduce themselves, their name, class, native place, etc... and then Sylvia madam introduced about Samisti. I spoke about Samisti and its goals. My name is Priyanka.i have completed B.tech in computer Science and Engineering in Vignan's Nirula Institute of Technology and Science for Women, Guntur. I completed my academic program from June 2018 to June 2022. I got 2 job offers while studying in college I waited for job opportunities.After completing my college, I eagerly awaited onboarding at a company. Finally, I received a joined date, but unexpectedly, just two days before joining, they postponed the onboarding. After some days, they regretfully informed me of the cancellation. Later, in March, I moved to Hyderabad, where I pursued Python and SQL courses. my father's cousin referred my name to Samisti volunteers from the Samisti group. My father's cousin, associated with Samisti is in touch with them. They recommended me from Samisti volunteers through their support, not only helped me secure an internship with my communication skills but also assisted me in getting a mentor. When I attended interviews in Hyderabad, I faced rejection due to feedback about my communication skills. Samisti volunteers motivated me significantly. The three of them motivated me a lot. I am worried and I have a communication problem. They gave me many suggestions and motivated me a lot. They advised me to speak in English with everyone, stating that it would help improve my communication skills. I learned a lot from them.
